Lost.

Phew! That was a close one.

Amid our ongoing war, the looming threat of terrorist strikes on our homeland, our continued listless economy, rising gas prices and the health care debate, it appears a large number of Americans are concerned about.....(drumroll, please.......).......whether the President's State of the Union Address will preempt the season premier of Lost.

Thankfully, the President bowed to the pressure, and White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, while fielding questions on the important national security issues of the date, did in fact confirm that the White house would ensure that the State of the Union did not interfere with the Lost premier.

Listen, I'm a fan of Lost. My wife sucked me into the drama a few years ago and I've been following it ever since. I'm looking as forward to its final Season as anyone, and yes, I know that the premier is a three-hour special.

But my goodness guys, what in the world does it say about Americans that we place more value on the season premier of a fictional show than we do on hearing from our leader on the critical national issues that effect us all? It's not like ABC can't move the premier to another day/time or push it back.

Really, which is more important to us?

We've got to look in the mirror guys.
